We are Fostering Friendly!
We’re delighted to announce that we are aspire is now a Fostering Friendly employer!
This means we’re committed to supporting our colleagues who are, or wish to become, foster carers – enabling people to balance work with foster care and recognising the important role that fostering plays in our communities.
Did you know that nearly 40% of foster carers combine fostering with other work? And those who do so say that a supportive workplace can make all the difference.
We have developed a new Fostering Friendly policy to outline the support we can offer. Colleagues at we are aspire have the opportunity to work flexibly where this is compatible with the demands of their job, and some paid time off for training and settling a new child into their home.
Join the fostering community in Stoke-on-Trent
Being a foster carer is truly life changing. If you have a spare room and spare time, even as little as one weekend a month, you can make a real difference to a child’s life.
There is no such thing as a typical foster carer. You can be any age, any gender, be married, single or divorced, be from any religious or cultural background and of any sexual orientation. Stoke-on-Trent City Council would love to hear from you.
When you choose to foster with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, you’ll receive a professional allowance, exceptional training, and support, with ongoing development throughout.
